Reviews
I can’t say anything good after this place, now I understand all the bad reviews. Took my pets for a dental and vaccine appointment, Mr Adelman decided that “I had” to get my dogs examined for heart worm, even though they had already had it done about 2 months before. I did file a compliant with the state because this was not ok, heart worm should be done yearly, not excessively every 2 months. Staff is also rude and unfriendly. You can receive the same treatment by the county, better prices and professional.
I brought my little baby Shih Tzu who is almost 18 years old to get groomed and to get evaluated on his health because he’s feeding on me. They were so rude they wanted to give them two shots which at 18 years old you’re going to poisoning know and I think that was at line. They were rude. That stuff was nasty. I would never go back there if you paid me. No no no no horrible, horrible place.
There is no circumstance in which I would ever bring a pet to this place, I wouldn’t even bring a sick plant to this place.
I hate leaving bad reviews but I generally fear for the care and safety of animals being brought here. I made the monumental mistake of bringing my dog here today. He had a very sensitive ear infection and this was the only place with openings, the reason why became very obvious. First, they don’t let you go back with your dog for the exam which is bizarre and something neither my dog nor I have experienced. This operation is designed to induce maximum anxiety in your dog. While in the waiting room, a woman came in to file a complaint about how terrible the Doctor was. I should have taken the hint.
I’ll never bring my dog to this vet office, while I was out of town my dog got an abscess next to her bum. I called Layhill animal hospital for an appointment and was seen the next day, which was amazing but once I was there it took 2 vet assistants to handle my 5 pound chihuahua who is very sweet. The vet Dr. Robert Adelman finally looked at my dog, he spent less than 5 minutes and immediately said it was a tumor that needed to be removed and biopsy. It was overwhelming since not once he considered an impacted anal gland nor did he take the time to clean the wound or even remove fluid from the wound to get it tested. He didn’t want to try antibiotics and I insisted we did, I took my dog and her meds and made an appointment at Pender who was amazing! They gave her a complete exam including a biopsy where they remove fluid from the wound and test it and the vet said it was an impacted anal gland! Not a tumor or cancer! This office is taking advantage of the community it’s suppose to serve.
You will always be greater and treated with great, professional, kind and patient staff.
Our chihuahua mix has anxiety the staff are so patient with us and the doctors and techs now what they are doing and how to work with pets and their moods. Highly recommend to friends and family.
I brought my late dog here about a year ago when he was very ill and no where else would accept him. They took great care of him and helped him during his final days. Now that I have a new puppy, I am going straight here for all care. The staff and vet are amazing!
Dr. Adelman and his staff have taken wonderful care of our pets. Very kind and caring, recently helped us with our sweet cat Pippy who had lymphoma, early diagnosis, and helpful with securing the treatment she needed. Lucky to have them in the neighborhood.
Nothing but great experiences with Dr. Adelman and his team over the years. Getting ready to bring our new addition to him. Im sure he'll be cared for just as well as our other pets. Patient and very caring.
*Fast-forward- 2023 still has amazing staff working there. The vet is still very caring. You can tell he's passionate about what he does. His staff is a reflection of him for sure.
